Module I: Communication for Business

In this special communication course for business English you will learn how to correspond well in a professional context. Depending on your professional activity, our lecturers at alerno develop needs-based teaching concepts for various professional groups.

Module IV: Telephone in English

This course is specifically about business communication over the phone in English. The focus is particularly on listening-speaking exercises.

In this course, the participants are helped to develop, create and give individual presentations in English.

Placement test / course selection

The language level is divided into the common European framework of reference for languages (GER) for comparability and standardization. The levels are divided as follows:

A1 Beginner (Basic knowledge) … Understand and use familiar, everyday expressions and simple sentences.
… introduce yourself, ask other questions about yourself and answer such questions.
… communicate in a simple way when the other person speaks slowly and clearly.
A2 Basic knowledge (advanced basic knowledge) … Understand sentences and frequently used words, for example when it comes to simple information about the person / family / shopping / work.
… communicate in simple, routine situations and use simple means to describe their own origin / education / environment / everyday things.
B1 Advanced language use (conversation safe) … Understand the main points when using clear standard language and when dealing with familiar areas such as work / leisure.
… report on experiences / events and justify opinions and views.
… use language to cope with most everyday situations and express oneself related to familiar topics, e.g. family / hobbies / job.
B2 independent usage of language (fluently) … follow longer speeches and complex arguments in standard language as well as news broadcasts.
… communicate spontaneously and fluently in private and professional areas that a normal conversation with native speakers is possible and can take part in discussions.
… Write clear, detailed texts on a variety of topics, write essays, write personal and formal letters.
C1 Expert language skills (fluent in speech and writing) … follow long speeches and conversations with complicated contexts, understand long and complex factual and literary texts, specialist articles and long technical instructions.
… express yourself spontaneously and fluently, use the language appropriately and precisely in social and professional life and in training.
… express yourself clearly and precisely in writing and write texts on complex issues.
C2 Almost native speaker knowledge (business fluent in spoken and written) … understand spoken and written language without any problems.
